Throughout the school day
The interactive Food in Schools Toolkit provides a wide range guidance, resources and interactive tools to inspire and support you in taking a whole school approach to healthy eating and drinking. It covers healthier breakfast clubs, healthier cookery clubs, healthier lunch boxes, growing clubs, dining room environment, water provision, healthier tuck shops and healthy vending machines.
The information included in the Toolkit, is based on extensive pilot work in over 300 primary, middle, secondary and special schools throughout England in 2003 – 2004.
If you are involved in promotion healthier eating and the general wellbeing of children and the school community, you will find something in the Toolkit to help - whether you are just starting out or have already achieved Healthy Schools status.
Where do I find the Toolkit?
Although the toolkit is primarily available online here,
a printed Toolkit containing key material is available
through local healthy schools coordinators - www.lhsp.org
