Shirlee Posner - Regional Manager, South East

My career has always revolved around food, firstly in restaurant management and then in higher education and the food industry. In 1992 I took up a senior lectureship at South Bank University to teach Home Economics then in 1996 I moved to Sainsbury’s to work in food product development. In 1997 I developed a portable career as a food consultant, writing for magazines, food styling and delivering food education. At St Christopher’s school in Hertfordshire I taught food and nutrition to all pupils from primary through to GCSE before moving to Taiwan in 2001. On returning to Guildford, England in 2005 I have worked on various projects with the Design and Technology Association. I became familiar with the Food in Schools primary training programme whilst helping to organise a promotional road show in the summer of 2007, which raised awareness of this valuable programme. I am looking forward to working with teachers in the South East and helping to deliver this essential training throughout the region.
