Active Kids Get Cooking Food Awards Scheme
The Active Kids Get Cooking are focused around the successful completion
of a practical food task by children aged 5 to 11.
In essence, the Active Kids Get Cooking encourage good practical
work with food in the primary school classroom. Children
are rewarded for work that they undertake through the formal
curriculum. The emphasis of Active Kids Get Cooking is to recognise
and reward the excellent work already going on in schools
- not to create additional paperwork or overload teachers
with yet another initiative.
Children will receive
a certificate indicating that they have completed one of
the four food tasks, i.e. fruit and vegetables, sandwiches,
biscuits or bread. A general certificate is also available.
Further information, including registration details are
available from the designated Active Kids Get Cooking website.
